Find answers to common questions about using Cadence, managing your account, and getting the most out of the app.
To record a presentation, simply tap the record button on the main screen. Make sure you've granted microphone permissions when prompted. You can record for up to 5 minutes. When you're done, tap the stop button to finish recording.
After you stop recording, Cadence will automatically transcribe your speech and analyze it using AI. The analysis includes your pace, filler words, pauses, structure, clarity, and more. This typically takes 30-60 seconds depending on the length of your recording.
Yes, you need credits to run an analysis. Transcription is free, but each analysis costs 1 credit. You can purchase credits through the app's purchase screen, accessible from the profile menu.
The overall rating (1-10) is a comprehensive score based on multiple factors including pace, clarity, structure, delivery, and content quality. A score of 8+ indicates excellent performance, 6-7 is good, and below 6 suggests areas for improvement.
Most effective presentations are delivered at 140-180 words per minute (WPM). This pace keeps the audience engaged without feeling rushed. Cadence will highlight if your pace is too slow (under 120 WPM) or too fast (over 200 WPM).
Filler words like "um," "uh," and "like" are natural but can distract from your message. Cadence identifies all instances so you can practice pausing instead of using fillers. Aim for fewer than 3 filler words per minute.
